Project Overview
The live bidding console is the primary place where LiveAuctioneers generates revenue, yet it experiences several usability issues. After reviewing LogRocket sessions and user feedback, we found that users often encountered several recurring bugs when trying to view upcoming lots in the console’s left side panel, referred to as the “lot tracker.”
The lot tracker is the main tool that bidders can use in the live console to understand what lots have already been sold during the auction, and what lots are upcoming and open for bidding. It also helps bidders to know when an item of interest, potentially one that they have saved pre-auction, will be coming up during the live sale.
In looking at these core issues, we took the opportunity to identity other areas for improvement, one important one being the accessibility and legibility of the live message panel on the right of the console.

Hypothesis
We can increase win rates by fixing broken functionalities in the lot tracker, allow bidders to more easily view past and upcoming lots, and help bidders to track when their next saved items are coming up for auction.
